Handcrafted by Liz was launched in 2006, with a range of magnificent hand knitted winter scarves. Liz has since expanded her business to include beautiful woven pieces, ranging from small decorative neck pieces, to long, luscious scarves, and gorgeous textured woven shawls.
For summer she is making exquisite summer shawls which are composed of a variety of fabrics, silks and wools, sewn together in a collage. They are gossamer thin, and look elegant with a strapless evening dress, or funky with a pair of jeans and a tank top. Each item is unique and completely handcrafted.
Liz is also happy to make to order, and can design something to complement an outfit or a particular colour. What really makes her work stand out is the way she combines the textures and colours. All pieces are hand washable, mostly acrylic with some wool component, and therefore do not itch or irritate the skin. They are also very soft and feel great to wear.
Liz has recently expanded her repertoire to include hand made fashion jewellery, which is designed and made from freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones such as rose quartz, black agate, howlite, coral, jade and Chinese crystal. These items are decorative and complement any outfit, casual or dressy. They are very well priced and also make wonderful gifts for that person who has everything!
